Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) is proud to partner with Chick-fil-A® through the Shared Table Program. This initiative ensures surplus food from local Chick-fil-A® restaurants reaches the families in our community who need it most. But this vital work relies not only on the generosity of our partners but also on the dedication of our volunteers and the support of donors like you.
How the Shared Table Program Works
The Chick-fil-A® Shared Table Program turns surplus food into a blessing for those facing food insecurity:
- Food Rescue: Unsold but safe and wholesome food, such as sandwiches, wraps, and salads, are set aside for KCM.
- Delivery to KCM: Using the KCM Food Pantry truck, our dedicated volunteers pick up these donations regularly and transport them to our pantry.
- Distributing Hope: The rescued food is made available to our clients.
Behind the Scenes: Keeping the Wheels Turning
While the food rescue program is a blessing to so many families, its success depends on the operational backbone provided by our Food Pantry truck. From pickups to deliveries, this truck is a critical tool in our mission. However, maintaining it is becoming increasingly expensive.
