About Red Apples

[/heading][vc_column_text]The time of year is upon us once again when we start preparing Katy ISD children for the 2023-2024 school year. KCM, along with Compassion Katy, is working towards alleviating the hardship of arriving to school on the first day with no school supplies. Our annual Red Apple School Supplies Program & Happy Feet Program is currently underway to meet this need. In 2022, with the support of local churches and our community, KCM was able to provide 998 students with new backpacks and required school supplies. In addition, KCM also provided 743 children with a new pair of shoes to start the school year. The Red Apple Program has helped thousands of children over the past 29 years. Our goal this year is to increase the number of children served by this program to 1,000. KCM is incorporating our Third Annual Happy Feet and Red Apples to insure children start the year off on the right foot, by providing all registered children with a new pair of shoes, a backpack and needed school supplies. The total fundraising goal for these two programs is $70,000.

How can you get involved?

• Financial Contributions – DONATE ONLINE. Checks are also accepted, payable to Katy Christian Ministries and “Red Apples” in the memo line, mailed to: P.O. Box 986, Katy, TX 77492. Cash donations and other donations can be dropped off at our Administration Office at 3506 Porter Road, Katy, TX 77493 Monday – Thursday 8am-5pm. We ask that all monetary donations be turned in by August 31, 2023.
• School Supply Drive – any group or organization can hold a school supply drive. Should you need more information please email RedApple@ktcm.org .
• Volunteerism – another way to assist in the Red Apple / Happy Feet Program is by volunteering your time to help organize and distribute supplies. Please visit our website www.ktcm.org/volunteers/special-events to register to volunteer.

KCM’s service area encompasses 13 zip codes and spans 3 counties. We need your assistance to meet this goal and make this a successful school year for children in need! Our need is big, but our God is bigger.
