Katy Christian Ministries Announces Executive Appointments

Strengthening Leadership to Transform Lives

Katy Christian Ministries (“KCM”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Virginia Gonzalez as Chief Executive Officer and Deitric Johnson as Chief Financial Officer, effective June 1st. These appointments mark a pivotal step in strengthening KCM’s professional and passionate leadership team, ensuring the continued delivery of transformative services to the community.

With a legacy spanning 41 years, KCM has significantly grown in its mission to transform lives through God’s grace and the generosity of the community. Serving the counties of Harris, Fort Bend, and Waller, the organization remains committed to helping those most vulnerable in society. In 2024 alone, KCM provided 1,750,647 meals through its Food Bank located on Porter Rd in Katy, assisted 2,468 victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse, and extended direct support to over 8,000 families and veterans. KCM operates with a dedicated team of over 55 staff members and over 2,000 volunteers who tirelessly work to serve those in need.

Virginia Gonzalez, Chief Executive Officer

Ms. Virginia Gonzalez has extensive experience of running nonprofit organizations, having previously served as Executive Director of the West Texas chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving. Her leadership and vision have been instrumental in driving impactful initiatives within charitable sectors. Reflecting on her appointment, Ms. Gonzalez stated, “I am honored for the opportunity to lead this incredible organization. In West Houston, our community sees parents with children lining up in their cars at 3:30 am in the dark to receive food from our Food Bank. For the families and victims of abuse we support, we are often their last hope of help. There is no more important mission, and I am grateful for the support of our community to be able to provide them with help.”

Deitric Johnson, Chief Financial Officer

Mr. Deitric Johnson joins KCM with a strong background in nonprofit financial and operational leadership. He previously served as CFO of Gamaliel Foundation, where he successfully managed complex financial operations to ensure organizational sustainability and growth. His expertise will be instrumental in advancing KCM’s financial strategies and operational goals.

A Message from KCM’s Board President

Don Flowers, President of KCM, expressed the Board’s enthusiasm for the appointments: “The Board is delighted to confirm these two extremely strong leadership appointments at KCM. Working with our community and churches, we are excited to see KCM expand and increase the support it provides to some of the most vulnerable in our community.”

KCM looks forward to embarking on this next chapter under the leadership of Ms. Gonzalez and Mr. Johnson, with the unwavering support of its staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners. Together, they will continue to impact lives through compassionate service and dedicated outreach.
