Domestic Violence occurs when a family member, partner, or ex-partner attempts to physically, verbally, emotionally dominate the other. Domestic violence has many forms, including physical violence, sexual abuse, emotional abuse, intimidation, economic deprivation or threats of violence. Domestic violence occurs in all cultures. People of all races, ethnicities and religions can be perpetrators of domestic violence.

Sexual abuse is undesired or non-consensual sexual behavior by one person upon another. It is often perpetrated using force or by taking advantage of another. The term also covers any behavior by an adult or older adolescent towards a child younger than the age of consent, a disabled person, an elderly adult, or by someone in a position of power and influence over the other.

Domestic Abuse & Sexual Abuse Support
KCM Crisis Center offers both Domestic Abuse and Sexual Abuse Support Groups, fully confidential and reserved only for our clients. These groups cover a range of topics relevant to client’s healing journey. Sessions are led by trained advocates in both English and Spanish. Group sessions for the children of victims are also provided.
KCM partners with ESCAPE Family Resource Center to bring you high quality parenting classes to equip you with the tools you need to parent effectively.

KCM Crisis Center offers a confidential Teen Support Group, open to the public and covering a range of topics including equality and respect in relationships, enhancing safety and respect on school campuses, youth leadership & violence prevention, and support for those healing from past abuses.
