Katy Christian Ministries is preparing for our annual TOY DRIVE. Last year we were able to make Christmas special for over 1200 children from Katy and surrounding areas. Your organization has made a difference in the lives of children in need and now we invite you to join us again to make this Christmas season a joyous one. When you are planning your toy drive, keep in mind that the children we serve range in age from birth to 17 years old. The greatest need for toy drive items is for our teenagers who have the same needs and emotions as younger children.

Here are some age group suggestions:

Teenagers (13-17 years) love gift cards from Target, Best Buy, Academy, Wal-Mart, JC Penney, Kohl’s, etc. They also enjoy CDs, cameras, personal care products for both boys and girls, watches, purses, wallets and all sporting equipment. DVD movies (G, PG or PG13 only).

Pre-Teens (9-12 years) love gift cards also. They enjoy the same items as teens as well as arts and crafts items, board games, handheld electronic games, remote control vehicles and DVDs (G or PG only, please).

Children (4-8 years) love dolls, action figures, age appropriate sporting equipment, learning games, puzzles, picture books, remote controlled vehicles, board games, arts and crafts, Legos, Tinker Toys, Lincoln Logs and DVDs. (Veggie Tales, Disney, etc.)

Babies and Toddlers (Birth to age 3) love soft, cuddly toys, learning toys, brightly colored toys, riding and pull toys, and DVDs such as Veggie Tales, Baby Einstein, etc.

Please limit the cost per gift to a minimum of $10 and a maximum of $50.

Gift Delivery Times:

Gifts should be delivered to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 5373 Franz Rd., Katy, Texas 77493. Delivery times are Friday, December 2^nd between 3:00pm and 8:00pm or Saturday, December 3^rd, between 10:00am and 4:00pm.

Please DO NOT WRAP the gifts. It is critical for us to be able to see the gift quickly and to place it with a particular child. Donating wrapping paper, ribbons, bows, tape, and gift tags is always appreciated. We will distribute it to the families to wrap their gifts. Please deliver bicycles, tricycles and wagons fully assembled.

Should toy donations exceed what is needed for Santa’s Sleigh, those donations will go into direct service for KCM clients and/or will be distributed to other ministries in the surrounding Katy area. Thank you for your continued support of our Annual Katy Christian Ministries Toy Drive.

Katy Christian Ministries is preparing to make Christmas and Santa’s Sleigh special for families that are struggling to make ends meet. Last year we were able to make Christmas more joyful for over 1200 children from Katy and surrounding areas. We also assisted 30 senior adults. Please read our Guidelines to Gift Giving to help you with your decision to adopt a family. When you determine the number of families you would like to assist at Christmas, you have 3 ways of getting your information to KCM:

You will receive the first name, age, gender and a “Wish List” for each child to assist in shopping for “your” family. We do not start sending out this information until the 1^st of November. To protect the dignity of families in need, KCM will not reveal the last names or addresses of people enrolled in Santa’s Sleigh.
