George Puig, President   

Church Affiliation: Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church

Mr. George Puig is currently serving at Katy Christian Ministries as President and Governance Committee Member.

Mr. Puig is an Ordained Elder through the Presbyterian Church USA (PCUSA). He is an active member at Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church teaching two weekly bible studies. His favorite bible verse: 2 Chron 7:14-15.

Mr. Puig has Non-Profit Experience by serving as: Director, (5 plus years) at Harris County Parkinson Society, Houston Area Parkinson Society (15 plus years), Presbyterian Homes (3 plus years), Katy Christian Ministries (5 plus years)

Also, Mr. Puig has professional experience as a: Registered Engineer, Life Member – American Society of Professional Engineers, TCB/AECOM – 35 plus years – Chief Construction Engineer/Executive Vice President, PKV Engineering – Current – 10 Plus years – President.

Personal: Mr. Puig is widowed, married for fifty years, and has two daughters and three grandsons.

Patti Lacy, Vice President – Executive Committee

Church Affiliation: Westland Baptist Church

Patti has been on the KCM Board for many years. She and her husband Bill have raised four children in Katy and both are very involved in the community.  Patti enjoys being a Realtor in Katy/West Houston where she’s worked her business since 2000.  She has served as the KCM President of the Board, currently she is serving as the Vice-President.  Patti has also served 9 years on the board for Katy Visual and Performing Arts Center where she served as President for 6 years. She is looking forward to watching KCM grow and continue to minister to the hurting people in our community.

Church Affiliation:  Living Word Lutheran Church

Kent Black is in his first year of serving as a KCM Board Member, serving on the Operations Committee, representing Katy Living Word Lutheran Church where he has been a member for 16 years.

Mr. Black has been a resident of Katy for 16 years, originally from Southeast Texas, he attended Texas A&M University and received a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science.  He has more than 20 years’ experience in the insurance and healthcare services industries delivering technology solutions through product development and leadership responsibilities. He currently serves as an Executive / CIO Enterprise Applications for a global specialty insurance company.

Mr. Black lives in Katy with his wife of 19 years Holly, 12-year-old daughter Faith and 9-year-old son Gage.

Mr. Dennis Lee is currently serving as a Director, nominated by KBC – one of the KCM covenant churches.

He is an Ordained Deacon at KBC, retired, has for-profit management experience as a CEO & President of an international oil services company and serves as Chairman of the Katy non-profit organization Clothed by Faith.

Mr. Lee has been married to Rona Lee for over 30 years and they have two children.

Rodney McCain, Director and Co-Chair Strategic Planning Committee

Church Affiliation: Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church

Rodney McCain is in his third year as a Katy Christian Ministries Board Member and currently serves as  Co-Chair of the Strategic Planning Committee. He is also a Finance Committee Member. He previously served as Secretary on the Executive Board.

He represents Grand Lakes Presbyterian Church in Katy, TX, where he has been a member since 2012. He is on the Mission Team of Grand Lakes, and also serves on a Committee for Habitat for Humanity through a partnership with Compassion Katy.

Mr. McCain has been employed for eleven years with Ferguson Enterprises as an Accounts Manager in the Industrial Group, specializing in Supply Chain Management. He was born in Faribault, MN and educated in the suburbs of Chicago, IL. Mr. McCain earned a B.A. in Psychology from Carson-Newman University in Jefferson City, TN.

As a Board Member, I want to bring operational efficiencies to the organization and help grow the ministry by increasing the services offered.

He has lived in Katy since 1997 with his wife of 19 years Stacy and has two children: Caroline who is 15 years old and Hayley who is 12 years old.

Greg Norman, Director and Co-Chair of Strategic Planning Committee

Church Affiliation: Grace Fellowship UMC

Greg Norman is completing his second year as a KCM Board Member and currently serves as Co-Chair Strategic Planning Committee. He represents Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church.

Mr. Norman has been a resident of Katy for 17 years. He attended Katy High School then Texas A&M University and received his Bachelor of Science in Petroleum Engineering. He has successfully built several startup companies and is currently the President of Water Vision Incorporated here in Katy.

Mr. Norman is active in multiple charity organizations both locally and abroad.  He lives here in Katy with his wife of 28 years Angie and their twin 15 year old daughters Kara and Amy. Their son Denton is a senior attending Lipscomb University in Nashville, Tennessee.

Church Affiliation:  Living Word Lutheran Church

Bobbe is in her first year as a KCM Director and serves on the Finance and Governance Committees. She represents Living Word Lutheran Church where she has worshiped for 16 years, serving in various capacities from Finance Committee Member to Confirmation Class Instructor, Worship Leader to Boy Scout Troop 424 Adult Leader.

Bobbe is originally from Missoula, MT, but has lived in 8 states. She earned a B.S. in Economics from the University of South Dakota, is a member of Omicron Delta Epsilon, International Economics Honors Fraternity, and holds a Series 6 limited-investment securities license (inactive) from Colorado.

Bobbe’s Non-Profit experience spans 30 years and includes service as Community Representative to the Colorado Rockies MLB ‘Rockies Rookies’ Foundation, Grant Writer for The Denver Children’s Hospital Oncology Dept., the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and The Wyoming Children’s Theatre.  She is an award-winning Campaign Manager for the Rocky Mountain Region United Way and a dedicated community volunteer who’s past activities have included: Katy Relay for Life, Destination Imagination, BP MS 150, Cub Scouts of America, KISD McMeans Jr. High Theatre and Mime Troupe.

Bobbe has 34 years of broad corporate Finance experience specializing in Business Process, Financial Systems and Internal Controls at BP and Amoco.  She managed BP’s Finance, Accounting and Application Management Service deliveries across outsourced centers in North and South America and Asia, earning the Everest Group’s Outsourced Services Award of Excellence.  Most recently Bobbe led BP’s Upstream Global Master Data strategic design team, responsible for financial system deployments across Europe, South, Central and North America. She was a guest speaker at the 2015 Best Practices Oil and Gas Conference in Houston.

Recently retired, she and her husband Craig have two sons; Stuart, a graduate of the U.S. Coast Guard Academy now serving as Executive Officer on the USCGC Sturgeon Bay, and Eliott, a Geology undergraduate student at the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.

Bobbe intends to leverage her experience to help KCM operate effectively and to prayerfully engage others within the community to support KCM’s mission to “transform lives through God’s grace”.

George Hargett, Director

Church Affiliation:  Kingsland Baptist Church

Mr. George Hargett is currently serving as an Alternate Board Member at Katy Christian Ministries.

He has served on the Katy Christian Ministries golf committee for approximately 10 years.

Mr. Hargett attended Texas A&M University on a football scholarship and received a bachelors degree in Business Administration in 1964. He is retired after 43 years in the property and excise tax field with several oil and gas companies.

Mr Hargett has been married to Lee Hargett for 20 years and they have lived in the Katy area for the last 15 years. They each have two grown children and six grandchildren.

Ken Gross, Director

Church Affiliation:  The Fellowship

Ken has lived in Katy since 1991, before that he lived in Saudi Arabia and England where he was born and raised.  He is the Recovery Pastor and an Elder of The Fellowship, a non-denominational church.  He and his wife of 31 years have 5 children, 14 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.

Ken has an undergraduate degree in Chemistry and Physics from the University of London, a Masters in Business Administration from the University of Oklahoma and recently graduated Summa Cum Laude with a Master of Arts in Counseling from Houston Graduate School of Theology.  He currently works as a Pastoral Counselor.

In addition to his counseling work Ken serves as the founding director of Merimnao, a ministry to the brokenhearted.  Merimnao is a 510c3 organization (merimnao.org) that helps those who are struggling with life’s problems, such as addictions, divorce and grief. He also holds a leadership role for Prodical, A Community of Hope (theprodigals.org).

Penny Whited, Director

Church Affiliation:  St. Edith Stein Catholic Community

Penny has been on the KCM Board since November 2016.

She is a founding member of St. Edith Stein Catholic Community, the first parish in the United States to bear the name of this extraordinary woman of faith. They celebrated Eucharist for the first time at Mayde Creek Junior High School in October 1999. Penny is involved in the Nursing Home Ministry, Eucharistic Homebound Ministry and enjoys serving on retreat teams. Being active with the Ladies Guild, Vacation Bible School, and the OWLS (Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors) allows her to interact even more with the church community.

Penny is a retired teacher, having taught 37 years in Kindergarten and Pre-K. Her career included teaching in 3 districts: Houston, Lamar Consolidated and Cy-Fair ISD’s.

Penny has been married to her husband Charles (Butch) since 1978. They have a son, a daughter and 3 grandchildren.

Michael Farr, Director

Church Affiliation:  Grace Fellowship UMC

Michael has been a member of our Katy community for over 35 years. He has been married to his wife, DJ, for 31 years and has two children, Kandyce and Kristopher and two grandchildren, Keely and Taylin.

He has been a member of Grace Fellowship UMC for 12 years and was an active volunteer in their Care Ministry until joining their staff in November, 2016 as Local Missions Director. He is a Stephen’s Minister, a member of Church Council, and an active leader within the Church.

Michael graduated from Michigan State University  with a BA in Supply Chain.  He worked in the energy sector for 35 years, 30 years at ConocoPhillips and 5 years at Lyondellbasell Industries. He has held multiple global business leadership positions and specialized in business turnaround challenges during the latter part of his career.

He is also active in our community volunteering with several faith based organizations in the Katy area including Hope Impacts, Katy Christian Ministries, and The Ballard House.

Becce Slinkard, Director

Church Affiliation:  Family Life Assembly of God (FLAG)

Becce Slinkard is in her first year serving on the board. She represents Family Life Assembly of God, where she has been a member for 8 years, serves on the Missions Committee, and teaches Sunday School. Originally from Colorado, Becce graduated with an Elementary Education degree from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

She is excited to be a part of Katy Christian Ministries and looks forward to seeing the organization grow to be able to serve even more people in our community.

Becce has lived in Katy for 8 years with her husband, Bobby. They have been married 36 years and have three children and two grandchildren.
