People seeking assistance from Social Services are required to be within our service area and must call and schedule an appointment with one of our Case Managers. An interview will be conducted to determine the needs and resources that are needed. Trained staff assesses the clients’ needs and match them with services available within the programs of Katy Christian Ministries.
KCM Social Service Offices Can Provide:
- Limited financial assistance – Rent/mortgage, utilities, medical, gasoline
- Food Pantry Referrals
- Counseling Referrals – Family, individual
- DOCS — Doctors in Community Service
- Medical Equipment Loan Service
- Resale Stores Vouchers – clothing, household items, furniture
- Christmas assistance for eligible families – “Santa’s Sleigh”
- Provides required school supplies for eligible families – “Red Apple/School Supplies Program”

Katy Social Services – Fast Facts for 2011
Social Services is located inside the Administrative building alongside a Crisis Center and Food Pantry department. Two Resale centers and a collection center serve the Ministry as well.
1.) 9,715 families consisting of 13,245 adults and 14,162 children were served in 2011 in Social Services.
2.) Assistance given in 2011 :
- 1,535 New client interviews and 1,143 Update appointments.
- 417 Emergency Food / Homeless Assistance
- 11 Doctor / Dentist / Vision Referrals
- 7 Medical Equipment Loan Assistance
- 191 Utility Assistance ($17,613 total)
- 198 Rent / Mortgage Assistance ($26,375 total)
- 63 EFSP Rent / Mortgage Assistance ($24,700 total)
- 107 Clothing Vouchers redeemable at KCM Resale Store ($7,183 total)
- 173 Coupons given (75%off at KCM Resale Store)
3.) We have 7 volunteers who assist with greeting clients, answering phones, making appointments and data entry. They contribute 30 hours per week.
4.) Most requested item has been gas cards.
